Chicago Public Health Update – January

COVID Booster Updates (Per the CDC):

• Booster doses of Pfizer’s Vaccine are now recommended for ANYONE 12 YEARS AND OLDER five months after their initial Pfizer series.
• Booster doses of Pfizer’s Vaccine are now recommended FIVE MONTHS instead of six after your initial Pfizer series.
• CDC is recommending that moderately or severely immunocompromised 5-11 year olds receive an additional primary dose of vaccine 28 days after their second shot

COVID-19 daily summary, updated January 7:

• Confirmed cases per day: 5,260
• Hospitalizations per day: 90
• Deaths per day: 11
• Tests conducted per day: 29,473
• Test positivity rate: 21.1%
