Phlebectomy
Phlebectomy (also known as microphlebectomy, ambulatory phlebectomy or stab avulsion) is a technique to remove varicose veins. This procedure is done with local anesthesia and sometimes IV sedation. While still considered a minimally invasive treatment, it is usually seen as an adjunct to modern-day thermal and non-thermal ablative treatments. During phlebectomy, several tiny cuts (incisions) are made in the skin through which the varicose vein is removed.
